The Prefontaine Classic, held in Eugene, Ore. on June 4, 2011, was the fourth stop on the Diamond League schedule. Carmelita Jeter provided one of the meet's highlights, bouncing back from a disappointing loss in the Shanghai Diamond League meet - to Jamaica's Veronica Campbell-Brown - and posting the seventh-fasted 100 meters of all time. Jeter won the 100 in Eugene in 10.70 seconds, with a legal 2 meters-per-second wind at her back. Only Florence Griffith-Joyner, Marion Jones and Jeter herself had ever run the 100 faster. Jeter's time set a meet record and was a 2011 world lead at the time. Marshevet Myers was a relatively distant second at 10.86.
